First of all, I came home and our Christmas tree was up! Back at school, I only had twinkle lights in my room and a small sign in the living room, which wasn't cutting it. Now it feels like the holiday season is officially here.
On Sunday, my mom had the idea to take the boat out and go on a ride on the intercoastal at night and look at holiday lights. When we got out there, my dad realized that the light that goes on the back of the boat didn't work. We almost thought we couldn't go, but somehow my dad cut the wires of a light that was in his car (I know, what?) and wired the light to the boat pole. Ta-da! A makeshift light:
It really was a Christmas miracle because we got to go see pretty lights after all:
Condo owners wanted to get in on the festivities
This one house had their whole backyard filled with holiday props and decor.
In other news, I've been reading a lot over break (review post to come) and today I decided it would be nice to read outside in our backyard. This is what it usually looks like:
It was a little bit windy, but I didn't think anything of it. About five minutes after I got settled into my book, the umbrella hanging over my chair toppled over on me!
My sister ran out with the camera and snapped a picture because I was laughing. Winston had been sitting near me, and no one was hurt but I think he got a little spooked.
These were just a few things that I wanted to share. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.
